The lucky guy who found the most amazing woman to spend the rest of his life with. Born in Chicago and raised in Wisconsin with his family Robert, Lisa, and Andrew DeRuiter. Avid entrepreneur starting several businesses after graduating from UW Oshkosh; now a Director of Ecommerce for an outdoor company. Loves snowboarding, scuba diving, and traveling with his soul mate.

Oana Bircea

The incredibly intelligent and beautiful bride. Born and raised in Resita, Romania with her parents Dorel, Adela, and brother Bogdan. Moved to the United States in 2010 for work and to finish her Master’s degree. Currently manages a team of network engineers at a major corporation. She enjoys traveling around the world, trying amazing food and sharing new experiences with her other half.

First time we met

February 13, 2016

The night fate brought us together and our story began. We had so much fun hanging out we had to meet again the next day!

We fell in love

May 24, 2016

Our first international trip together. After one month traveling around Romania visiting family and friends we knew it was meant to be!

I asked and she said Yes!

December 25, 2018

It was a very special Christmas in 2018! Cory proposed by wrapping all of the wood letters individually as a present puzzle spelling out the proposal.

We decieded to marry!

August 30, 2019

To have our wedding in Romania, we needed a US marriage certificate. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend in Chicago with a private ceremony at the courthouse to make it official!

Our Adventures

Happiness is taking a trip somewhere new, with someone you love.  We have worked hard to see many exciting new places in our relationship, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together seeing many more!  We would love if you can join our next adventure to explore a bit more of Dracula’s country after the wedding!  During this exciting tour, we will see many of Romania’s most popular attractions.  We’re planning the transportation and lodging, we just need to know if you’re interested!

All the wedding planning has worn us out,
And a dream honeymoon would make us happy, no doubt!
But we have a little wish and we’re wondering if you can help,
